Kohl’s x Tone It Up Love Your Body Series Event

January 14, 2018

by: The Dimple Life

Hi Friends! Over the weekend, I attended the Kohl’s x Tone It Up event at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. It was an absolutely gorgeous day – I think it was 85 degrees! I just felt super blessed to be living a summer day in the middle of January.

The event was all morning and afternoon filled with all kinds of movement. It started with a total toning workout with Karena and Katrina, followed by arms, abs, yoga, dance, and kickboxing! I love that K&K appreciate all types of movement to get us all active! I say definitely try any kind of exercise a couple of times to see what you really love! A workout should be enjoyable in order for it to be really sustainable for you.

The sweaty day really went by so quickly with the help of a live DJ, Katrina and Karena both just being their happy selves, and the energy of hundreds of supportive girls all around.

Before meeting up with my friends, I started the morning getting outfitted by Kohl’s in a very cute and functional sweat-wicking sports bra and top. Kohl’s price points are seriously THE BEST. If you take a look at their site, you’ll see so many items from your favorite brands for super affordable prices. My sports bra was from Under Armour and my top is from Nike – both were under $50! I’ll take two of each please 😀

After making sure my active wear situation was on point, that’s when the real work started and I had to put my clothes to the test! Karena and Katrina led us all through a one-hour sweat-inducing workout with tons of moves working the core, arms, booty and spiking up that heart rate with some cardio. It was helpful and motivating to see them up on stage having fun with their workout and really cheering on all of us in the crowd.

I can’t emphasize enough the importance of how much community is so important to achieving your goals and being happy! I do believe much of happiness comes from within when you can fill your cup up with gratitude but studies have been done that prove that happiness levels increase when you feel more connected to a group. Findings show that identifying as part of a like-minded group gives people a stronger sense of purpose, security, and identity. Finding your “girl gang” or your squad can definitely help support you when you’re going through anything tough – including that last round of plank jacks!

After we all got our sweat on, I made my way to the Kohl’s x Tone It Up shop! Karena and Katrina really embody balance and healthy living – it’s not just about the workouts it’s about healthy eating, self care and so much more! It makes sense that the ladies created a one stop shop with Kohl’s because they have products across literally any wellness category. K&K created a shop with Kohl’s that lists out ALL their favorites. Check out the whole collection here! And P.S. aren’t those pink shoes above not the cutest ever!? I definitely wanted a pair.

After we all got our workouts in, there were also stations set up to receive manicures and massages. What a perfect way to wrap up the day! It’s so important to “treat yourself” and reward your body with not just the activity of movement but with pampering yourself! The more you take care of you and do things that comfort you and make you happy, the happier you will be with not just your own life but the happier you are towards others.

And there you have it! I had so much fun and I cannot wait until the next fitness event to reunite with hundreds of my closest friends 😀

This post was sponsored by Kohl’s but all thoughts are 100% my own!
